Female arrested after knocking Columbus officer unconscious during traffic stop
A traffic stop on Friday afternoon turned ugly when an officer was beaten to an unconscious state, sources say.
A female Columbus police officer pulled over Alexus Henry for a wearing no seatbelt and speeding violation. Henry pulled into a driveway on Blan Street in the Oakland Park area.
Henry is believed to have ran into a house with the officer following inside. Henry, with her fist, began to beat the officer to an unconscious state as units from the police department, both marked an unmarked responded to the officer in trouble. After beating the officer, Henry walked into a room and tried to barricade herself in as another officer was responding. As the second officer tried to detain Henry, Henry hit the second officer with her fist. Henry was finally put into police cuffs as she spat on and was belligerent with other officers. The female officer was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional for a concussion and was treated and released for her injuries.
Henry was charged with two counts of obstruction, two counts of battery, three counts of simple battery on a law enforcement officer, speeding and no seat belt violation.
