Lauderdale County deputy and murder suspect‘s vehicle described
US Marshals have released the vehicle that a Lauderdale County deputy and a murder suspect fled in. Here is an updated timeline from the beginning until now:
THE ESCAPE
What began as a normal Friday at the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office in north Alabama has now turned into a nationwide manhunt. Friday – began when Transport Van 5 leaves the detention center to the courthouse with 7 inmates and 2 deputies. Shortly thereafter Transport Van 2 leaves the detention center to the courthouse with 5 inmates and 2 deputies.
A Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office employee, identified as Assistant Director of Corrections Vicki White, left the detention center with Inmate Casey Cole White – who was shackled and cuffed – this morning on the way to the court house for a mental evaluation of Casey White around 9:30 A.M. The sheriff later confirmed there was no mental evaluation scheduled. Vicki told the booking staff at the detention center that she was going to drop the inmate off along with other deputies at the court house and also meet with the medical staff at a local doctors office because she was not feeling well. The sheriff confirmed no appointment was made to see the staff.
Vicki and Casey are not related and have not been seen since, and the fact that the two are missing was not realized until approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Casey White is being held on capital murder charges. The vehicle the two left the detention center in was located around 11:30 AM on Friday by a police officer in the parking lot of a local shopping center – named Cox Creek.
The booking officer, at 3:30 PM, reports to Administration that they have been trying to contact AD White to check on her and that her phone is going directly to voice mail. She also advises that Inmate Casey White was not returned to the detention center with the other inmates.
The Administrator immediately contacts sheriff’s office and officers begin a search of the courthouse to determine if inmate White is still in the building. Over the next several minutes it is determined that he is not in the courthouse and that there was no court appearance or evaluation scheduled. Security footage was reviewed, and it was discovered that AD White never arrived at the courthouse.
THE REWARD
The US Marshals offered a $10,000 reward for the escapee wanted and the endangered deputy and the sheriff’s office released new pictures of the inmate.
“GET BACK HERE” – SHERIFF
The Lauderdale County Sheriff announced Vicky White was wanted on charges that are connected to the escape and both Vicky and Casey are armed and dangerous and both have weapons. The sheriff also said that both subjects went straight to Cox Creek Shopping Center with no intention in going to the courthouse. An investigation is underway into if the two had a romantic relationship.
It was also confirmed by the Sheriff that Vicky recently sold her house and likely has access from that sale.
THE ESCAPE CAR AND WEAPONS
The White’s (not related) fled in a Gold/Copper 2007 Ford Edge with VIN #2FMDK39C67BA32790 with damage to the left rear bumper. They are possibly armed with an AR-15 and a shotgun. They were last spotted in Rogersville, Alabama.
LCSO continues to work with the FBI, ALEA, ATF, US Marshals, Secret Service, and other agencies with following leads and investigating the escape. If you have any information regarding this suspect, please contact the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office at (256) 366-3006; or call 911.
