Tractor trailer hauling vehicles catches fire on Interstate 85 at Andrews Road in Lee County
A tractor trailer hauling vehicles has caught on fire on Interstate 85 heading southbound near Mile Marker 68 close to Andrews Road in Lee County.
One picture shows Lanett Fire Department and at least Engine 3 and 4 with Opelika Fire Department on scene.
ALEA says, “The commercial vehicle fire has the southbound lanes of interstate 85 near the 68 mile marker blocked for an undetermined amount of time. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are asking everyone to avoid this area and, if possible, seek an alternate route.”
Lee County Emergency Management Agencies units 3 and 5 are also en route. As of now, no injuries have been reported.
