More than 12 hours later, police were dispatched to shooting call at 5757 Buena Vista Road, Shell Gas Station, around 3:54 P.M. Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison was dispatched to the scene and pronounced the teen deceased at 4:00 P.M. The teen was later identified, after the mother was notified of the passing, as 17-year-old Rotravious Lofton and an autopsy has been scheduled for Lofton. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were also on scene and are still investigating.
Less than 3 hours later, Columbus police officers and firefighters with medics from Columbus Fire and EMS were dispatched out to Elizabeth Canty Homes off of Cusseta Road for reports of a child shot.
