Argument between two groups at LaGrange skate park leads to deadly shooting

An argument at a LaGrange skate park led to shots being fired, with some of the shots striking a 16-year-old.

LaGrange Police responded to 400 Bull Street (South Bend Skate Park) in reference to multiple shots being fired and at least one person shot at this location on March 4, 2022, at approximately 7:30 P.M.

Officers arrived and located Nasir Truitt suffering from multiple gun shot wounds on Pierce Street beside the skate park.

He was transported to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries, police and Troup County Chief Deputy Coroner Amy Sheppard.

The Criminal Investigations Section responded and took over the investigation at this time. Early investigation reveals there was an argument between two groups of people, that led to multiple shots being fired.

At this time there are no suspects; however the LaGrange Police Department is asking that anyone who was in the park at this time to contact the LaGrange Police Department with any information.
