Opelika police are investigating an overnight shooting which occurred in a trailer park off of S Long Street.

The investigation began when on March 4, 2023, at approximately 11:05 p.m., Opelika Police responded to the 1400 Block of South Long Street where they located a male with a gunshot wound.

The patient was transported to East Alabama Medical Center by ambulance before being taken by Lifesaver to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA, for further treatment.

After an initial investigation, 38-year-old Tasia Leoha Thomas was arrested for Assault, First Degree.
