A murder suspect is back in Columbus after being arrested by officials in Kansas in connection to his wife’s death.

Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Grove Park Drive (Grove Park Apartments) concerning a sick or injured person on November 17, 2022 at 1:33 p.m.

“Responding officers found the victim unresponsive inside the residence,” police said. Deputy Coroners Elizabeth Allison and Dustin Harrison arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim, later identified as Kerry Binns, 50, deceased at 2:07 p.m.

The Violent Crimes Unit was called in to take lead on the investigation. On May 4, 2023, probable cause was established to issue an arrest warrant for Murder for Chris Binns, 52.

On May 11, 2023, investigators in the Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit were notified that the U.S. Marsnals arrested Christopher Binns in Kansas.

8 days later, Binns was booked into the Muscogee County Jail.
