Columbus police have made an arrest in connection to a shooting death which occurred in early to mid September.

Columbus police officers responded to the 4000 block of Oates Ave. in reference to a shooting on September 10, 2023 around 2:26 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Mardarrius Collier suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation led to Keven Brown, 31, being identified as the suspect. On September 16, 2023, Brown was taken into custody and charged with Murder, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Receipt, Possession, or Transfer by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

Since September 10th, five subjects have been arrested in five separate homicide cases in Columbus.
