Columbus investigators have arrested a woman in connection to a Friday morning double shooting.

The investigation began after police officers responded to Piedmont Columbus Regional concerning a person showing up with a gunshot wound on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 8:17 a.m. The Violent Crimes Unit responded to the hospital to take lead on the investigation. 

“The preliminary investigation revealed that a dispute took place inside a private vehicle in the area of 13th Street and 12th Avenue,” police said. The altercation escalated to shots being fired. Two people were injured – one remains in critical condition and the other is expected to be okay.

Warrants were obtained for the arrest of Tiyanka Williamson. She was taken into custody without incident and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault.
