A suspect is wanted after a student reported sexual abuse to a school faculty member in LaGrange.

Police responded to a school within the city after the student reported ongoing sexual abuse of themselves, and their siblings, to a faculty member on April 12, 2024.

“The abuse had been ongoing for several years,” police said. “The siblings were located and also interviewed, and witnesses were also met with to corroborate the allegations being made.”

The offender was identified as Jeremy William Powell, who was known to the victims at the time of the incidents. Warrants were issued for Powell’s arrest, to include rape, child molestation, and numerous other offenses. He remains at large at this time.
