Columbus police are investigating after gunfire Saturday afternoon left one man dead.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of a Smoke Shop in the 4300 block of Victory Drive around 7 P.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says the victim, later identified as 77-year-old Andrew Jackson, was pronounced dead at 7:55 P.M at Piedmont Columbus Regional emergency room. This is the 15th homicide for 2024, and the fourth homicide this month.
