Troup County investigators have started a probe into a murder which occurred overnight west of the city of LaGrange.

Deputies responded a call of a person not breathing after being shot in the 600 block of Teaver Road just after 2 A.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024. As deputies arrived, a female was found suffering from a gunshot wound. 

“Deputies began lifesaving measures on the victim including CPR until fire and ambulance personnel arrived a few minutes and took over care of the victim,” the sheriff’s office said. The victim was transported to Wellstar West Georgia Emergency Department where she later died.

Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division were notified and began processing the crime scene. 

“Multiple shell casings were found outside the home indicating a person or persons shot from the outside striking the victim who was inside,” the sheriff’s office added, At the time of the shooting, another female adult and a small child were also inside the home. 

The victim has been identified as Taneshia Bridges, 41 years of age, and no suspect has been named at this time.
