Original story: One person has died and two others are recovering in a parking garage shooting along Front Avenue in downtown Columbus.

Police officials and Fire/EMS rushed to the scene at 1028 Front Avenue around 12:16 A.M. on July 7, 2024 at a parking garage and located multiple people with gunshot wounds.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan confirmed one victim, identified as 21-year-old Quentin Scott Jr., was pronounced dead on scene by Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Ben Saxon. Two others were transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional in stable condition, police said.

CNAW2News.com saw dozens of bystanders in the area of the crime scene, as well as several family members consoling each other near the front of the parking garage.

Columbus police announced Sunday morning 21-year-old Brandon Day is wanted in connection to the triple shooting and murder. More arrests are expected, per police.

This marks the 25th homicide for the city this year and the third homicide this weekend and so far this month. This is the third triple shooting so far this year. This weekend has been a violent one, Friday afternoon, a woman and her unborn baby were killed in a stabbing. On Saturday afternoon, a person was stabbed on Apex Road and another person was stabbed on Bragg Smith Street.
