A retired Columbus doctor has died following a crash near Lakebottom Park.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 1:30 P.M. on Cherokee Avenue at Country Club Road. The vehicle crashed into a nearby ditch.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan has confirmed retired doctor, Gilbert Maulsby, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Columbus Police Department’s Motor Squad is investigating the crash.
