A woman has died after being mauled by two large dogs Friday morning in LaGrange, authorities confirmed.
Officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to reports of a dog attack near the intersection of Swanson Street and Juniper Street around 11:11 a.m., on Friday, July 11. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim in the roadway actively being attacked by the animals.
Officers intervened to stop the attack and rendered emergency medical aid at the scene. Paramedics with AMR transported the woman to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center for further treatment, but she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
The LaGrange Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has taken over the case. Officials have not disclosed any details regarding the ownership of the dogs or potential charges have not yet been disclosed.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” police said in a statement Friday afternoon.
