UPDATE: Daniel Victor MaCarn has been apprehended and is currently in custody. As additional information becomes available we will pass it along. 

A Blue Alert has been issued after an officer with the Scottsboro Police Department was shot on Saturday, July 26.

The suspect, identified as Daniel Victor McCarn, 29, a white male, 5’ 10’’, weighing 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, of Huntsville, is currently at large and is armed and dangerous.

A manhunt is currently under way for McCarn who fled on foot and was last seen near the intersection of U.S. Highway 72 and County Park Road, located within Jackson County. Please avoid this area if possible.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are on scene to assist in the search for McCarn, including Special Agents assigned to ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), Troopers assigned to ALEA’s Highway Patrol and federal partners to include the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United States Marshals Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

If you have any information concerning McCarn’s whereabouts, do not approach him but call 911 immediately.
