Columbus police are investigating a Monday afternoon shooting incident.

The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Thomas Street, which is in the East Wynnton area of the city, around 6:10 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026.

One person was injured in the shooting and taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.

Officers roped off the street between Samson Avenue and Washington Avenue, while crime scene investigators were seen taking images of multiple homes, vehicles and evidence. At least nine evidence markers were placed at the scene.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
