The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a Columbus man killed in a Thursday shooting.

23-year-old Ameri Wilson was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Wilson was shot during a domestic incident with his brother at a home in the 400 block of McCartha Drive, officials said.

At the time of an X post later that evening, Columbus police did not mention any arrests being made.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit remains investigating. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 911.
