Columbus man killed following shooting near Columbus Foundry

Columbus police are investigating a deadly early Wednesday morning shooting.

The shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Northside Industrial Boulevard at Aludyne-Columbus Foundry.

The victim, identified as 54-year-old Lawrence Mitchell Perry, was pronounced deceased after being taken by a private vehicle to a nearby hospital, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Bryan says the shooting occurred following an altercation. Perry’s next of kin has been notified. The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the deadly shooting.
