Auburn University professor identified as homicide victim found at Kiesel Park

An Auburn University veterinary professor has been identified as the homicide victim found at Auburn’s Kiesel Park.

Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton identified the victim as Dr. Julie Gard Schnuelle, 59, of Auburn, AL.

Dr. Schnuelle was found deceased in a wooded area of Kiesel Park, located on Chadwick Lane in Auburn, around 2 P.M. on September 6, 2025.

Auburn police have issued a Be-On-The-Lookout for a red F150 that was missing from the area of the park. Police are requesting any sightings of the vehicle to be reported to the Auburn Police Department.

Dr. Schnuelle is a professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences, in the Large Animal/Food Animal section, according to the Auburn University website.

Dr. Schnuelle will be transported by the Lee County Coroner’s Office to ADFS Montgomery Medical for postmortem examination.
