An arrest has been made in a Columbus apartment complex murder.

The murder occurred on August 12, 2025, at The Lakes Apartments on Warm Springs Road. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Martavis McKinnie.

According to police, on September 11, 2025, 30-year-old Shayonna Jones was arrested in connection with the shooting death. She is charged with murder.
