A mass shooting in Downtown Montgomery Saturday night left two dead and 14 injured.

Law enforcement officials from Montgomery Police, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and first responders from fire and rescue agencies responded to the area of Bibb Street at Commerce Street following numerous shots being fired around 11:30 P.M. CST on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
According to a presser given by police, 14 people received gunshot wounds in the incident.
Two of the 14 victims died, with at least three others receiving life-threatening injuries. Nine others received non-life-threatening injuries.
Montgomery Police Chief Jim Graboys confirmed two parties were shooting at each other in a crowd of people downtown.
The established crime scene goes from Molton St to N Court St on Bibb Street. The crime scene also extends down Commerce Street from Tallapoosa Street to Market Plaza.
Police urge the public to avoid the are while they work to investigate the scene.
