An arrest has been made in a murder that occurred last month in Phenix City.

The deadly shooting occurred on September 29, 2025, at Brookwood Apartments in the city, which left LeNorris Boyd Jr. dead and a female injured.

Nearly a month later, on October 23, 2025, the United States Marshals Task Force, with the assistance of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) S.W.A.T. Team, arrested JaMarrie Deaundre Leonard, of Hurtsboro, Alabama.

Leonard was taken into custody in Eufaula, Alabama, and will be transported back to Phenix City, where he will be booked into the Russell County Jail.
