Smiths Station fire crews are battling a Saturday night motel fire.

The fire is taking place at the Budget Motel, located at 4860 Lee Road 430, also known as Panther Parkway.

The fire appears to be in the far back side of the abandoned motel. Crews are still working to extinguish the blaze — with smoke and flames still visible.

Salem Volunteer Fire Department, EAMC ETS, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and Lee County Emergency Management Agency are also on scene. Drivers are asked to avoid Lee Road 430, while officials work.
