Fire officials are working to to extinguish a blaze following an explosion in Ladonia.

Fire officials with Ladonia, Crawford, and Uchee Creek volunteer fire departments, along with Phenix City Police Department and Haynes Ambulance responded to the scene on Westside Drive around 7 P.M. on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

The response came after an explosion was heard by several residents in the surrounding area and flames and smoke could be seen.

It is unclear what exactly caught on fire but residents say it appeared to be multiple objects on fire. Residents also say the land was being cleaned out and the people who were there at the time of the fire left prior to officials arriving.

The investigation into the blaze remains ongoing.
