Columbus firefighters extinguished a structure fire Sunday morning.

CNAW2News.com first began getting reports of the fire around 5:35 a.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026. The fire occurred in the 5100 block of St. Mary’s Road in the Bunker Hill community of the city,

Columbus Fire and EMS Deputy Chief Daniel Macon said the house was under construction and was vacant. Heavy smoke and flames could be seen on video sent in to CNAW2News.com.

No injuries were reported. The roadway was shut down while first responders could work the scene.
