A woman died Thursday morning in a double shooting in east Columbus.

The shooting occurred in the 4500 block of Gardiner Drive, off of Hunt Avenue, around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said 28-year-old Lexus Antrom was pronounced dead on scene at 4:50 a.m.

Police say an additional victim was transported from the scene to a nearby hospital for injuries. The victim, a 22-year-old male, has non-life-threatening injuries to the lower half of his body, sources tell CNAW2News.com.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the incident. Antrom will be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for an autopsy.

This is the second homicide of 2026; earlier this month, a man shot and killed his mother, injured his grandmother, before turning the gun on himself in a home off of Airport Thruway.
