Auburn High School briefly implemented a “secure your area” protocol Wednesday in response to an anonymous threat made over the phone, school officials confirmed.
Administrators said the precautionary measure was taken out of an abundance of caution to allow school officials and law enforcement to fully assess the situation and ensure the safety of students and staff.
“At no point was there a confirmed threat to the campus,” school officials said in a statement.
During the incident, movement within the school was limited as part of the protocol. Officials emphasized that the action was strictly precautionary and designed to maintain a controlled environment while the situation was evaluated.
The protocol has since been lifted, and normal school operations have resumed.
School leaders thanked students, staff, and local law enforcement for their cooperation and quick response, which helped resolve the situation safely.
Officials say student and staff safety remains their top priority.
