LaGrange officials request state investigation into billing discrepancies tied to Ridley Lake Park project

An investigation is underway after city officials identified billing discrepancies connected to work on the Ridley Lake Park Project.

According to city officials, on April 29, 2026, the LaGrange City Manager contacted the LaGrange Police Department regarding concerns over recent invoices submitted by Principle Construction. The issue was flagged during a routine review by a city employee, who noticed irregularities that raised questions about potential fraud or overcharges involving public funds.

After an initial review of the documentation, authorities determined there was enough information to move forward with a formal investigation. Preliminary findings were documented, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was notified.
