Man found dead in Phenix City hotel shooting; two charged, one wanted

The Phenix City Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Monday at the Colonial Inn in Phenix City.

According to police, officers responded on May 11, 2026, to the Colonial Inn, located at 905 Highway 280 Bypass, in reference to a shooting inside one of the hotel rooms. When officers arrived, they discovered Harvey Lee Walker deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Following what investigators described as a thorough investigation, authorities identified the homicide suspects as Tionne Carreker and Tisha Gibson.

Police said Carreker was taken into custody by the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office in Junction City, Georgia, without incident. She has been charged with Capital Murder and will later be extradited back to Alabama.

During the investigation, a third individual, LaVincent Harris, was identified. Harris was arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of Marijuana First Degree.

Authorities said Tisha Gibson remains wanted on an outstanding Capital Murder warrant, and law enforcement officials are actively working to locate her.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.
