The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible shooting incident after deputies responded to a 911 call early Monday morning on Lee Road 118.
According to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Lee Road 118 at approximately 3:44 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, after receiving a report of shots fired into a residence.
When deputies arrived, they found the caller crawling out of a window and claiming he had been shot. The individual appeared to be intoxicated at the time, authorities said.
Medical personnel examined the man at the scene and determined he did not suffer any gunshot wounds. He was later transported to East Alabama Health due to high blood pressure.
Investigators did locate evidence indicating gunshots had occurred at the residence. However, authorities have not yet determined whether the evidence was connected to a recent incident or if it was pre-existing.
The investigation remains ongoing.
