LaGrange man severely injured after being attacked with pickaxe

A LaGrange man is at a trauma hospital Tuesday after being attacked with a pickaxe.

The attack happened in the 400 block of East Bacon Street around 10:25 a.m. on May 26, 2026, during a fight. As officers responded to the scene, they located a victim with severe injuries and unresponsive in the middle of the road.

The victim was immediately transported to a trauma center for further treatment.

Authorities say the investigation revealed that Emmanuel Boyd, who had fled the scene, had attacked the victim with a pickaxe.

Detectives later located Boyd, and he was taken into custody.

Boyd was charged with Criminal Attempt to commit Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Battery. Boyd was transported to the Troup County Jail.
