Two men have been arrested on murder-related charges following a joint effort involving the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, according to authorities.
The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday, May 27, 2026, that its Collaborative Intelligence Group successfully located and arrested Markale Mickles on a grand jury indictment warrant issued through the sheriff’s office. Authorities said Mickles was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Muscogee County Jail.

Mickles faces the following charges:
- Felony Malice Murder
- Felony Murder
- Aggravated Assault
Investigators also announced the arrest of Brandon Day, who was taken into custody in Henry County with assistance from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Day will be extradited back to Muscogee County to face charges that include:
- Felony Murder
- Aggravated Assault (3 Counts)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
The sheriff’s office thanked Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in the arrest.
In a statement, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to targeting violent crime in the community.
“Violent criminal enterprise has no place in Muscogee County,” the agency stated. “We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — not on our watch.”
