Lanett Police: Second suspect in May 24 shooting investigation surrenders

The Lanett Police Department says one of the defendants charged in connection with a shooting that occurred May 24 has voluntarily surrendered to authorities.

The shooting happened in the 3000 block of 18th Street Southwest. Following an investigation, warrants were obtained for Jeremiah McGilbery and Allen M. Foster.

Police said Foster surrendered on June 4 and is currently being held at the Chambers County Jail pending further court proceedings.

The Lanett Police Department said it remains committed to thoroughly investigating violent crimes and ensuring those accused of criminal offenses are brought before the judicial system.

The investigation remains ongoing.
