Flock cameras played a key role in helping LaGrange Police locate a stolen vehicle Wednesday, leading to a brief pursuit and the apprehension of two juveniles.

The LaGrange Police Department was notified on August 5, 2026, that a vehicle had been stolen in the area of Bell Street.

Within 13 minutes, officers with the LaGrange Police Department, with assistance from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, located the vehicle using Flock cameras throughout the city.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle near Ragland Street at Woods Way. Police said officers activated their emergency lights and sirens, but the driver fled, initiating a vehicle pursuit.

The pursuit ended a short time later on Niles Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence.

The driver and passenger then fled from the vehicle on foot but were apprehended by LaGrange Police officers at a nearby apartment complex.

Both the driver and passenger were juveniles. Their identities were not released.

No injuries were reported and the stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner.

The incident comes as the use of Flock license plate reader cameras remains a subject of debate in communities across the country, including questions surrounding privacy and the collection and use of vehicle location data.

In this case, LaGrange Police said the cameras helped officers locate the stolen vehicle within minutes of receiving the initial report.
