Harris County EMS mourns passing of Paramedic Yun Nye

Harris County EMS is mourning the loss of Paramedic Yun Nye, who passed away on August 24, 2026.

In a statement, Harris County EMS described Nye as a dependable, selfless and kind member of the department who made a lasting impact during her time with the agency.

Nye initially joined Harris County EMS as a part-time employee. According to the department, she quickly became someone her colleagues could depend on and was always willing to step in wherever she was needed. Her dedication and reliability eventually led to her being offered a full-time position.

EMS officials said Nye brought humor and positivity to even the most difficult shifts, describing her as “incredibly funny” and refreshingly honest.

Although her time with Harris County EMS was brief, the department said Nye became an important part of the EMS family and was deeply loved by those who worked alongside her.

“There are people who pass through our lives and people who leave a permanent mark on them. Yun did the latter,” Harris County EMS said.

The department said its stations will be quieter without Nye’s laughter and that her absence will be felt by her colleagues for years to come.

Harris County EMS extended its deepest condolences to Nye’s family, friends, loved ones and everyone who had the opportunity to know her.
