The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit with assistance from FBI Birmingham are asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a shooting that injured eight people Saturday night in west Tuscaloosa.

Tuscaloosa Police officers responded to the 2600 block of 22nd Street at approximately 10:48 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of multiple people being shot.

Eight people have now been identified as victims. Seven victims were initially reported, and an additional victim later arrived at the hospital for treatment of a gunshot graze wound Sunday afternoon.

Investigators are asking anyone who attended the event or was in the surrounding area Saturday night to provide any photographs, cellphone video, surveillance footage or other information that could assist with the investigation.

The FBI has established a digital media tip line that allows members of the public to submit information, photos and videos directly to investigators.
