Officers with the LaGrange Police Department’s Animal Control Division are investigating an animal cruelty incident after a dog was found deceased inside a trash bag on Fulton Street.
According to police, the incident occurred on September 15, 2026. The dog, described as brown or beige in color and possibly a husky-shepherd mix, was found with multiple apparent gunshot wounds.
The body was submitted for a necropsy as part of the investigation.
Based on the condition of the dog, officers believe it may have been a family pet that had been well cared for. Investigators are working to determine whether someone shot a neighbor’s dog and attempted to dispose of its body on Fulton Street.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the dog or knows who it may have belonged to to come forward and assist with the investigation.
