The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at Carolyn Crayton Park in Macon early Sunday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center shortly after midnight on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026. Deputies responded to the park following reports of a shooting at a large gathering.

While deputies were en route, authorities received reports that multiple victims were arriving at a local medical facility in personal vehicles for treatment of gunshot wounds.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, 11 people were treated for injuries, including four 18-year-old males, five 17-year-old males and two 18-year-old females.

Medical staff reported that one 18-year-old male and one 17-year-old male are in critical condition. The remaining victims were reported to be in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office Criminal Investigation Division is working to determine what led to the shooting. No additional details regarding a suspect or possible motive were immediately released.
