CNAW Newsroom —
ALEA investigating two fatal incidents in Tuskegee

State troopers are investigating two fatal crashes in Tuskegee.

The investigation began by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Soecial Agents and local police when they were dispatched for an incident in the 200 block of East Martin Luther King Highway in Tuskegee around 6 A.M. on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

19-year-old Kandarius Green, of Tuskegee, and a 16-year-old juvenile were involved in the incident and arrived at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika with injuries. The teen was transported by air to another area hospital and was pronounced deceased.

Later in the day, around 1:30 P.M., state troopers responded to a single vehicle crash involving a 2005 Honda Accord on U.S. Highway 29 near Mile Marker 177. The driver of the Honda was identified as 32-year-old William E. Howard Jr., of Tuskegee. Howard was found ejected from the vehicle, which was overturned, and deceased.

ALEA Special Agents, Troopers with the Highway Patrol Division and Officers with the Tuskegee Police Department are currently investigating both incidents. ALEA and Tuskegee Police are working to determine if the two incidents are related.
