APD: One injured in ‘edged weapon’ incident at Glendean plaza

CNAW Newsroom —
APD: One injured in ‘edged weapon’ incident at Glendean plaza

An ‘edged weapon’ incident left one wounded earlier today at an Auburn plaza.

The incident occurred in the 700 block of East Glenn Avenue, in the Glendean plaza, on September 10, 2025.

Authorities became aware of the incident after Opelika police officers made contact with a 36-year-old male victim who presented an injury consistent with being assaulted with an edged weapon.

“The victim reported that the assault had occurred in Auburn,” police said. Opelika Police notified the Auburn Police Department, and the victim was transported for medical treatment for a non-life-threatening injury.

“There were no calls reporting this incident prior to Opelika Police initiating contact with the victim,” police said. Auburn Police responded to the area of the crime and located the crime scene.

“After further investigation, it was determined that this incident was not random and stemmed from a dispute between parties that were known to each other,” police said. Detectives have confirmed that this was an isolated incident, and the assault derived from discord between the parties involved.

The investigation regarding this incident is ongoing, and anyone with any related  information is encouraged to contact the Auburn Police Department at (334) 501-3100.  Information can also be reported by calling/texting the tip line at (334) 246-1391 or by emailing [email protected].
