Auburn police use aviation assets to track down auto burglary suspects

CNAW Newsroom —
Auburn police use aviation assets to track down auto burglary suspects

Four suspects, including one adult and three juveniles, have been arrested following an auto burglary investigation in Auburn.

According to the Auburn Police Department, officers responded on April 5, 2026, to a report of a vehicle burglary in the 300 block of Yukon Drive. During the investigation, police deployed aviation assets, which located four individuals hiding in the surrounding area.

An Auburn Police remote aircraft pilot assisted officers on the ground by directing them to the suspects’ location. When officers attempted to make contact, the individuals fled on foot but were quickly apprehended after a brief pursuit.

Police said the suspects were found in possession of items reported stolen from vehicles in the area.

Authorities identified the adult suspect as Andereka Lashavian Williams, 18, of Lanett, Alabama. Williams has been charged with two counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and two counts of third-degree theft of property.

The three additional suspects, all juveniles, were each charged with two counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and two counts of third-degree theft of property.

Williams was transported to the Lee County Jail, where he is being held on a $9,000 bond. The juvenile suspects were taken to the Lee County Youth Development Center.
