CNAW2NEWS.com confirmed with authorities Thursday afternoon an Auburn quarterback was arrested by police officials.

The quarterback identified as Tyler Jamal “T.J.” Finley was arrested by Auburn Police Department officers after Finley allegedly attempted to elude officers. Finley was booked into the Lee County Detention Center on August 4th facing at least one charge, which was attempt to elude.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police attempting to perform traffic stops of a male operating a motorcycle, on two separate occasions near the area of Heisman Drive and South Donahue Drive on July 26, 2022. The male, who was not wearing a helmet, fled from police and committed several other traffic offenses in the process. Officers terminated the pursuit on both occasions as a matter of safety. Tyler Jamal Finley was identified as the person operating the motorcycle and an arrest warrant was obtained.

On August 4th, 2022 Finley turned himself in and was arrested in obedience to the warrant at the Lee County Jail. He was also issued traffic citations. Finley was booked in and made eligible for a $3000 bond.

Just hours before his shocking arrest, Finley “partnered with Amazon Fashion to promote Merch on Demand”, according to an Instagram post made by Finley.

Auburn Football coach Brian Harsin confirmed Finley was at the facility doing practice with his teammates today, and will continue to do so. Finley was a former LSU football player and transferred in 2021 to play with Auburn with 2022 being his second year at Auburn University. Finley’s career stats can be seen here.

We have sent an email to the office of Davis Whittesley, who is the lawyer for Finley. Whittesley has yet to reply to our email. No other details have been confirmed at this time. This story is developing.
