The Auburn Police Department is investigating a stabbing that left two wounded and one in custody,

The Auburn Police Department responded to reports of a violent assault at a residential apartment complex located in the 400 block of Opelika Road on June 13, 2025. Officers arriving at the scene discovered two victims suffering from significant injuries caused by a bladed weapon. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital and are currently listed in stable condition.

Following an immediate investigation, APD identified Tenia Guardian Romulo as the primary suspect in the assault. Information gathered indicated that Romulo had fled the Auburn area and was traveling through Coweta County, Georgia. Auburn authorities issued a Be-On-The-Lookout alert for Romulo and the vehicle he was believed to be driving.

Approximately 15 minutes before his apprehension, a Coweta County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) patrol unit spotted the suspect’s vehicle exiting a BP gas station off Exit 41 along Interstate 85. Deputies began trailing the vehicle as it proceeded northbound on Highway 29 South before turning east onto East Highway 16. The vehicle continued at a slow pace while additional units arrived on scene.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle near the Gordon Road area. The suspect continued to drive slowly before finally bringing the vehicle to a stop near the intersection of East Highway 16 and George Hill Road. Romulo was taken into custody without further incident.

Newnan Coweta Scanner Traffic has confirmed that authorities reported that Romulo had sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the initial altercation in Auburn. He was transported to a local hospital in Georgia for treatment. Following his release, Romulo will be held at the Coweta County Jail pending extradition back to Alabama.

APD has charged Romulo with two counts of first-degree assault. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and confirmed that all parties involved were known to each other prior to the assault.

The investigation remains ongoing.
