Key takeaways
  • Auburn University finance student arrested in Alabama for unauthorized entries at multiple Knox County schools.
  • Student faces criminal trespass charges; prosecutors cite safety concerns over multi-school access and out-of-state travel.

An Auburn University finance student accused of entering multiple school campuses without permission was arrested in Alabama before being returned to Tennessee, according to reporting from WBIR Channel 10.

According to WBIR Channel 10, court records show 20-year-old Zain Madadali was taken into custody in Auburn following the incidents in Knox County. Authorities later extradited him back to Tennessee to face charges.

Prosecutors, as reported by WBIR Channel 10, argue Madadali’s actions, including traveling out of state after allegedly entering multiple schools without authorization, raise concerns about whether he poses a broader safety risk.

The case stems from incidents where Madadali allegedly entered at least three Knox County school campuses, including an elementary, middle, and high school, without permission. WBIR Channel 10 reports that the district attorney’s office is using those actions, along with his out-of-state arrest, to argue for stricter conditions as the case moves forward.

Madadali is facing multiple charges tied to criminal trespass and being on school property without authorization, according to WBIR Channel 10.

His defense attorney, however, has pushed back on those claims, arguing the situation has been overstated and describing the incident as a misunderstanding involving school visitor procedures.

Still, according to WBIR Channel 10, prosecutors maintain that unauthorized access to multiple school campuses and his arrest in Auburn is reason behind the increased safety concerns standpoint.

This remains an active case.
