First responders located the victim suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Life saving measures were performed but were unsuccessful.

Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton told CNAW2News.com the victim, identified as 36-year-old Tara Renee Harris, was pronounced dead on scene. Harris was working road traffic control. Harris has been transported to ADFS Montgomery Medical Facility for a postmortem examination.

“The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities,” police said. The case remains under investigation by Auburn Police.
