1 of 2

A Columbus man is facing charges in connection to a shooting investigation on Armour Road in late August.

Columbus Police officers responded to the area of Armour Road and Sidney Simons Boulevard in reference to a shooting on August 27, 2023 at approximately 12:20 p.m.

Officers discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional where he was listed in stable condition.

The investigation revealed the presence of several shell casings scattered across Sidney Simons Boulevard and Armour Road. It was noted that traffic in the area was heavy at the time of the shooting.

As a result of investigative efforts, warrants were obtained for the arrest of Adrian Palmer, 23, in connection with the shooting.

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, law enforcement agencies collaborated in a joint operation that led to the successful apprehension of Palmer at Club Hill Apartments on Warm Springs Road. The operation involved the Columbus Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

Palmer is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime, and Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd Degree x3.

Additional arrests related to this incident are pending as the investigation continues.

“The Columbus Police Department extends its gratitude to all collaborating agencies, as well as the community, for their support and assistance in bringing this individual into custody,” police said.
