Female, child found dead in submerged vehicle in Lake Eufaula

CNAW Newsroom —
Female, child found dead in submerged vehicle in Lake Eufaula

A death investigation is ongoing in the city of Eufaula after a female and a small male child were found in a submerged vehicle, and the search continues for a third person.

The investigation began after Eufaula Police Department received a call on June 9, 2024, on a possible location on three individuals that were reported missing on June 1, 2024. The three individuals were 2 young females and a 4-year-old child.

EPD began searching the water area around Old Creek Town Park around 8:30 p.m. A vehicle was discovered in the water submerged in about 12 feet.

Houston County Rescue divers were called in to verify. After verifying the vehicle, Houston County Divers hooked up the vehicle for extraction.

Once the vehicle was recovered, a young female and small male child were discovered in the vehicle deceased. “Houston County and EPD are continuing to search the area for a possible third individual,” Police Chief Danny Christ said. “Eufaula PD is still gathering information and processing evidence.“
