CNAW Newsroom —
Former Columbus Officer exonerated in 2016 shooting jailed on sex charges

A Former Columbus police officer, who was exonerated in the 2016 police-involved shooting death of 17-year-old Christian Redwine, is now facing sex charges in Russell County.

The former officer, identified as Allan Brown, was led on a pursuit in Columbus by Redwine and his two friends in a stolen vehicle. The chase ended in Phenix City, which led to Brown firing 21 times. Redwine was killed. His estate, along with the passengers sued the city of Columbus and its officers, multiple reports suggests. The ruling was made which exonerated now-former Officer Brown, the now-former Chief Ricky Boren, and the city of Columbus government.

Several years later, Allan Brown is behind Russell County jail bars with two charges involving sexual crimes. Brown, through a grand jury indictment, is charged with sexual abuse, second degree, and sexual misconduct.
