Columbus police are investigating investigating an overnight shooting. The shooting occurred in the 2900 block of Peabody Avenue, between 29th Street and Rose Hill Street, around 1 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Police say one person was injured and taken to a local hospital. The injured person is expected to be OK. No arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing. A heavy police presence was spotted in the Waverly Terrace neighborhood of Columbus overnight.
Reports of the presence began coming in around 1 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The presence is located on Peabody Avenue between 29th Street and Rose Hill Street.
A crime scene has been established in the area.
It is unclear what led up to the presence, at this time.
